Jacalyn HerbertPrimary CounselorJacalyn Herbert is a primary counselor at the Family Recovery Centers in St. Charles, Illinois. In this role, Jacalyn supports children and families in an intensive Outpatient Treatment Facility who are struggling with issues ranging from depression and self-injury to family conflict and substance abuse. She provides a wide range of expertise in relaxation, individual, group and family counseling with an emphasis on adolescent behaviors.
Prior to joining The FRC family, Jacalyn was in a variety of roles from Regional Administration in foster care in the state of Illinois, to Direct Care as a case manager for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, as well as an individual and family counselor in both the inpatient psychiatric setting and Community Mental Health. Jacalyn graduated with her BS in Psychology and Spanish, with a Minor in African-American Studies from Iowa State University in Ames, IA and her MSW from Aurora University in Aurora, IL. In her spare time, Jacalyn is an associate minister at her local church, Sunday school teacher and a single parent to two wonderful children. She enjoys reading, traveling and spending quality time with family and friends. |
