Principal at South Elgin High School

Hello, my name is Kurt Johansen and it is my honor to serve as the Principal at South Elgin High School.  For nearly two decades, I have had the privilege of working in public education while serving as a special education teacher, head football coach, dean of students, assistant principal, and now the principal at South Elgin High School.  Throughout these experiences, my greatest joy has always come from watching students discover their passion and then work towards achieving their goals.  My drive as an educator is grounded in the strong belief that together, there is nothing we cannot accomplish.  The foundation of this belief is built upon relationships, trust, ongoing communication, and meaningful and deliberate collaboration.
